Walt Youngman is president of Walter C. Youngman, Jr., a Professional Corporation, which is the founding partner of the law firm of Youngman Ericsson Scott, LLP. . Mr. Youngman is an acknowledged expert in designing and implementing sophisticated income and estate planning, real estate planning and is widely respected for his expertise in tax law.
Born in Berkeley and raised in Oakland, California, Mr. Youngman received his B.S. in accounting and finance from San Jose State University in 1964. He received his J.D. in 1967 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Mr. Youngman became a certified public accountant in 1970 and practiced as a tax manager with the firm of Price Waterhouse-Coopers in San Francisco from 1967 through 1972. He has practiced law in Walnut Creek since 1972. Over the years, Mr. Youngman has actively lectured in law and taxation at such institutions as John F. Kennedy University Law School, Golden Gate University, Cal State Hayward, DeAnza College, and Foothill College.
Mr. Youngman is an active member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the State Bar of California, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Attorney-CPAs, of which he served as its President. He likewise served as president of the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley. Mr. Youngman is also a strong supporter of community organizations. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Mt. Diablo YMCA, President of the Rotary Club of Walnut Creek, and continues to be an active participant with the Rotary Club and Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.
